Abstract

At the time of buying oranges at the fruit shop or supermarket, we'll find a variety of citrus fruit size. Any buyer would have chosen orange large size and fruit set aside a small orange. In this issue the writer tries to design and build a tool selectors oranges using Sobel method based on the equipment Programmable Logic Control. In this final task, there are two important components of hardware and software and mechanical systems that support the work of this tool. Hardware section serves to drive a DC motor that previously would go into first relay and a webcam to take a picture of an orange. Part of software that functions to process inputs and outputs found on PLC Festo and the computer (image processing). The key to the selectors have orange on the image processing is the process of looking for the value of citrus fruit size using Sobel edge detection method to get the size of the fruit. Mechanical part is very important because it supports all the hardware components to work as you wish and avoid mistakes. Likewise with the hardware test results obtained in accordance with the circuit schematic is created. For the overall test results found that the solid mechanics will be very influential at the time of the process and can move all the mechanical components with the stable and smooth and get the success rate of 73.33%.
